French Rosewood Marquetry Bureau Bookcase

1900 - 1920
Description

A splendid French bureau bookcase in rosewood, kingwood and mahogany. Very well constructed with a solid oak carcas fitted with attractive veneers in rosewood , kingwood and mahogany. Decorated throughout with intricate floral marquetry inlay. The glazed top section has a pair of doors which open to access a shelved interior. The doors are lockable (key supplied) and are fitted with attractive astricals. The shaped top is surmounted with a decorative brass crest. The bureau is of bombe form and fitted with solid brass mounts throughout. The fall front (lockable with key supplied) opens to reveal a fitted interior with pigeon holes and stationary drawers. Beneath there is an arrangement of 2 short over 1 long drawer. This stunning bureau is a highly decorative piece and offered for sale in excellent condition. Professionally refinished in our workshops, now with a great colour and patina, ready to go straight into the home.
