Puckerings has dated this piece to the 1870s.

The box is mounted with individual panels, gilded and enameled with a petunia floral decoration. There are four vertical panels (two back and two front) including an oval navy blue and gold panel to the front featuring a cream butterfly.

There are various engraved decorations including Petunias to the top and a garland above each of the Lion's head handles to each side. The shaped integral stand sits of four pretty cast feet.
The inside is good and clean and you can see how each of the panels is attached to the exterior of the box. The underside is where the full English mark can be found for the silversmith.
Stunning in every way. 8 7/8" x 6 7/8" x 7 1/2" tall to top of cast Petunia finial.
