Marylebone Antiques has dated this piece to the 1850s.
The only way to do it successfully would be to take of the upholstery first & then tighten up the frames. We could arrange that if needed, but we thought we would offer them as they were with the old fabric on first. I would date these armchairs to around the 1850-60’s period. The gilding is all original & has aged naturally, giving them a great look. Please enlarge all the images to see the exquisite details on the frames. The price we are offering these for is for how they are right now. However we would be glad to quote a price for taking off the upholstery, tightening the frames & re-upholstery if necessary.
