C19th Large Oak Library Steps

19th century
Description

An exceptional C19th set of oak library steps of very large proportions; the rectangular book rest on shaped bracket supports above a large rectangular platform for standing; the six treads on a traditional 'A' frame united by plain stretchers and having a full length handrail with brass angled plates. The back legs with original, brass shaped, brackets and castors with leather wheels.

The front legs terminating in shaped sledge feet. Good colour of golden oak with a good patina.

English circa 1880
