Description

A WW2 Omega GSTP pocket watch.

The watch has a stem-winding movement, calibre 38.5L.T1, which is working nicely. The movement is signed with the Omega name and the serial number 9,904,063 dates it back to around 1943.

The watch measures 52mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. Over the years, perhaps just after the second World War, the case has been altered for the civilian market. The original military markings, a GSTP mark with the military arrow above, have been covered with an applied image of a wart hog... you can still see the reverse of the military marks inside the case back. The case was originally chrome plated but much of this has worn back to the nickel.

The acrylic lens is in good condition.

The signed dial has a short faint hairline running between 11 and 12, and several short and very faint hairlines around the subsidiary seconds dial.

The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.
