Antique Longcase Clock

18th century
Description

A fine quality and rare Bath Automaton mahogany longcase clock. A swan neck double hood pediment with fretwork. A well proportioned, slim mahogany case with choice timbers. Brass capped hood columns. An arched silvered dial with engraved corners and dial centre. A date aperture and seconds dial. An automaton bakery scene to the arch and engraved 'THE LARGE BREAD WAREHOUSE' with a moving figure with a sack of wheat.

I have never seen one like this before.

Thomas Bullock of Bath is well documented in Whites' 'Clockmakers in The City of Bath' book and worked from 1765-1795. Two very similair cases are illustrated.
