Description

A fine quality, early London walnut longcase clock. An arched hood pediment with side glass hood apertures. A well proportioned case with choice burr walnut veneers. An arched brass dial with herringbone chased dial edging and cast spandrels. A date aperture, seconds and strike/silent lever. An 8-day duration mechanism with 5 pillars striking the hours on a bell. Brass cased weights.

John Rasher of London is recorded in Baillies' ' Watch and 'Clockmakers of The World' book as working in from 1695-1721. Joseph is likely to be a family member.
