Camden Antiques has dated this piece to the 1920s.
The serpentine shaped top is fitted with a sumptuous black leather writing surface which is decorated with gilt tooling to the edges. The top is edged with a crisply carved gadrooned border. The serpentine fronted pedestals sit on characteristic ball and claw feet. There is an arrangement of 7 drawers all fitted with their original brass handles. The drawers are all fitted with fine quality Hobbs and Co. locks (keys supplied). This desk is finished to the rear so that it could be free-standing within a room if desired. Sympathetically refinished in our workshops to a very high standard and now in excellent condition with a great colour and patina. It breaks down into 3 sections for ease of installation.
