Rue des Fontenelles has dated this piece to the 1940s.
He painted in an impressionist style. He won his first drawing prize at the age of 17 and for painting at 18. He was a talented artist of maturity, but not well known and exhibited mainly before 1940. Several of his canvases were lost in the war. He also spent much of his time as a restorer and decorator.
The painting is inscribed on the rear and dated 1942.
