Description

It's extremely rare to come across one of these highly sought-after trinket boxes in a heart shape.

The solid or sterling silver box is clearly hallmarked for London 1927 together with the makers mark WC for the famous silversmith William Comyns. The wonderful tortoiseshell panel has exquisite pique inlay with bows, ribbons and even two small lyres with trumpets through the centre, beautifully executed only to be expected from this quality box. The shell is surrounded be a raised continuous acanthus leaf border.

The box opens to reveal the original velvet lining, in good condition.

Romantic in every way, in excellent condition measuring 3 1/2" x 3"
