Amazing Rare Large English Sterling and Tortoise Shell Jewelry Box

Description

An absolute stunner of a large early twentieth century solid or sterling silver jewelery box hallmarked for London 1920.

The quality is superb and would have been an expensive and exclusive item in it's day and would have belonged to an aristocratic English lady.

The silver is a good think gauge with this marvellous large piece of beautiful tortoiseshell in the top, stunning markings ranging from golden champagne to deep chocolate brown in colour. Unbelievably, the box retains not one but two of it's original working keys.

The interior reveals the original removable velvet clad tray, all totally original and beautifully crafted to skirt around the lock.

Excellent undamaged condition and measuring 9 1/2" x 5 3/4" x 3" tall. A rare piece for the discerning.
