Description

Made around 1880 in a discarded COMPASS BOX, this SAILOR'S VALENTINE SHELL PICTURE evokes images of Tall Ships, rough seas, tropical islands and probably years away from home and loved ones.

Each shell, lovingly collected from distant shores, forms a colourful framework around the heartfelt sentiment 'LOVE THE GIVER'.

A magical piece of history.

The shell decoration has survived well. There are some pieces of missing moulding around the edge of the wooden frame.
