Exquisite silver and enamel Austro-Hungarian box; of rectangular form with plain sides, ribbed decoration to the base, a fine foliate thumbpiece, beautiful original gilding to the interior and a wonderful enamel cover with a vacant silver cartouche to the centre. The edge of the enamelled area is azure blue with silver scrolling leaf decoration in silver, and the centre ground surrounding the cartouche is darker enamel with the same decorative pattern in silver. Well hallmarked and fine quality. Quite outstanding.
