Mytton Antiques - Jerrard Nares has dated this piece to the 1800s.
The pedestal surrounded by scrolling and rising flowers, and foliage emerging from rocks. The body of the mirror with a flat facing and rounded mould edge, sweeping into a corvette mould filled with a twisting rope, andt hence a stepped inner moulding. The original convex plate held within an ebonized slip. The bottom of the mirror decorated with carved scrolling leaves complimenting the pediment.
Date c 1820.
Height 48 inches, width 27 inches, depth 8 1/2 inches.
