Description

A Large Pair of 19th Century Brass Fire Dogs, Andirons.

Each with a fierce mythological beast, alighting on an open basket orb, decorated with leaves and fans. The orbs above ringed and waisted socles, the whole raised up on scrolling legs, adorned with counter facing dragons, leave and fruits. The legs finished with hoof feet.

Date c 1850.
