Antique English Leather Bound Dome-top Stationery Box C.1860

Description

A handsome Victorian domed writing / letter / stationery box dating to around 1860.

The box is decorated with brass and Mother of Pearl mounts, the brass has obviously tarnished over the last 150 years. The box is embossed with a line decoration and every second one gold embossed.

Opening the lid reveals a totally original interior including the silk lined lid; the underside also retains it's blue paper covering and four tiny brass feet. Complete with a working tasselled key, the box remains in very good condition with minor wear in areas commensurate with age.

Measures 8 1/4" x 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" tall.
