The Vintage Wrist Watch Company has dated this piece to the 1940s.
The watch has a 15-jewel hand-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is signed with the Rotary wings logo.
The case is 9 carat gold and there are hallmarks inside the hinged case back for London 1946, with a case maker's mark for Sylvain Dreyfuss.

Rotary Watches Ltd was established at La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, by Moise Dreyfuss in 1895. By the 1920s family members Georges and Sylvain Dreyfuss began importing Rotary watches to Britain, which was to become the company's most successful market.

The case has some surface marks and some pin prick sized “dings” but they are mainly to the back of the watch.
The convex lens is in good condition.
The signed dial is in its original finish and it has darkened with age although still easy to read the time. Feuille shaped hands, square subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track.
A new leather strap has been fitted.
The watch comes in a very stylish Rotary presentation box.
