Antique Furniture Direct has dated this piece to the Regency era.
Extensively inlaid with brass, the centre rail carved and inlaid with a brass star. The drop-in seat has been newly reupholstered. Good colour and patina. A beautiful statement piece that would make a handsome desk chair.

Solid and sturdy with wear and marks commensurate with age. Newly reupholstered. The cross stretcher is a later addition. One of the legs has no brass inlay. The seat rails have be professionally restored and some have been replaced at some point.
