The box also comes with its original working key.
The writing slope is excellent quality and is in good condition for its age with a beautiful patina. The brass work has been lightly polished and it displays very well inside and out. There is no major damage to the wood exterior and the leather is in good condition with some wear along the crease. There are some small knocks and minor light surface marks but nothing that affects the overall appearance of the box. The box would have originally had inkwells which are now missing and there are also some old ink stains where they would have been but it still displays very nicely.
A beautiful clean and honest slope that anyone would be proud to own. The best description comes from the photos so please look at them all carefully and if you have any questions please ask.
