Antique Victorian Oak Davenport Desk C1880

Antique Victorian Oak Davenport Desk And dating from around 1880. Constructed from quality oak it has a low gallery back and leather skiver to the top which raises to reveal four small drawers above a letter rack and open storage space. This is above a moulded oak panel to the front. To one side there is a small pen drawer with original ink well which rotates to the side of the desk and a sliding book rest abov four graduating drawers all of which are oak lined with original turned knob handles. To the other side there is a sliding bookrest above four false drawers fronts all with original turned knob handles. It is moulded to the base and stands on turned bun feet on castors.

MEASURES: 35.5” HIGH X 22.5” DEEP X 20.5” WIDE

With a lovely deep colour and patination and oozing all the charm and character of the period. Our furniture is cleaned and polished using traditional waxing methods.
