Pair of Antique Swedish Oak Bergere Armchairs

Description

Very impressive pair of antique Swedish bergere armchairs with superbly carved oak frames, cane sides & of generous proportions. They are in excellent condition, having just been polished & re-upholstered & they have just come over from Sweden. Please enlarge all the images to appreciate the quality of the carvings & all the fine details. These armchairs are also very comfortable & the seats are fully sprung. I would date these chairs to around the 1880-90's period & they are not a model I've ever come across before. The oak has a nice light colour which is similar to a walnut colour.

Seat height – 14.5 inches, 37 cm
