Georgian Stick Barometer, Tagliabue & Torre London

Description

A fine quality London Georgian period stick barometer. An architectural pediment with the original bone finial. A mahogany case with matched veneers and satinwood banded case edging. The original circular bulb cistern cover. A very well engraved silvered dial with slide indicator and the original bulb thermometer.

The dial is signed 'Tagliabue & Torre, 294 High Holborn London' and are noted makers of quality. They are well documented in Goodisons 'The History of Domestic Barometers' book and the partnership was 1799-1802. Other family members continued after this.
