Description

A mercury wheel barometer with swan neck pediment and original brass finial. Choice grain to the case with hygrometer, thermometer, main dial & level. Well engraved silvered dials. The level signed 'LAFRANCHO, LUDLOW'.

Joseph Lafrancho of Ludlow is recorded in Banfileds' 'Barometer Makers and Retailers' book as working from 1815-1850. This example dates to circa 1835.
