Rose of Ramsgate Fusee Dropdial Wall Clock

Description

An English dropdial fusee wall clock. A light walnut case with rounded curved base and original base fixing loops. A brass bezel surround to the 12" re-painted dial signed 'Rose Ramsgate'. An 8-day duration timepiece fusee mechanism.

James Rose of Ramsgate is recorded in Loomes' 'Watchmakers and Clockmakers of The World' book as working from 1866-1874. There is an old repairers label from Ramsgate on the inside of the side door.

Height 19" / 49 cms Width 15" / 36 cms Depth 5 1/2" / 15 cms.
