Silver Antiques Online has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
The undulating shape of the basket is unusual and very attractive and the swing handle has an embossed foliate design with a blank central cartouche.

This beautiful Basket is not only a stunning piece of silver but also a very rare piece as it was made by Florence Warden who was one of the few female Victorian Silversmiths and, in addition, it was hallmarked in Chester in 1897.

Free from any added inscriptions, monograms or initials, this stunning Antique Basket is a wonderful example of Florence Warden's expertise and, despite being over 120 years old shows little or no sign of use or wear.

If you are looking for a centre-piece for your table or adding to your silver collection you will struggle to find a better piece.
