Mahogany Chamfer Top Bracket Clock by Hallam of Nottingham

19th century
Description

A fine quality mahogany bracket clock by Hallam of Nottingham circa 1830.

The fully restored double fusee movement of 8 day duration, with anchor escapement and striking the hours on a single bell, pull repeat facility.

The good quality pendulum with faceted decoration to the rod and London style rating nut.

The convex round white dial with Roman chapter, signed to the centre Hallam Nottingham.

Cast brass bezel with convex glass.

Finley fretted matching blued steel hands.

The richly figured flame mahogany case with silk lined brass sound frets, brass carrying handles and brass bordered blind frets around dial, standing on a moulded plinth and four brass bun feet. The chamfer top surmounted by a brass pineapple finial.

Original locks.

A good quality clock in fine original condition with the movement fully restored.

All of our clock movements are restored by our horologist who works exclusively for us.

Our horologist is a Fellow of the British Horological Institute (FBHI), having 35 years of full time professional engagement in the repair & restoration of clocks, watches, music boxes & barometers. He was the recipient of the 1977 Worshipful Company of Clockmakers Bronze Medal.
