Description

Fine Edwardian portrait in oil on canvas by the American artist George H. Taggart (1865-1924) dated 1905. Chest length portrait of an older gent with a steady gaze and impressive set of moustaches. Dressed in a black jacket and stiff white collar with a red neck tie. Lovely impressionistic brushwork to the face. Clearly signed and dated in the lower right hand corner. Very good condition, presented unframed on the original stretcher.
