Here we have for sale today a very fine Late Victorian mahogany and inlaid couch, dating from about 1895 to 1900, all made in mahogany with boxwood stringing and marquetry inlaid.
This is a very fine couch indeed, or maybe a window seat, or parlour sofa, all these names fit.
Standing on square tapered legs, with a padded and upholstered seat, also a padded and upholstered inside back and outside back. Out-swept arms and some very fine carving.
Recently re-upholstered in a Damask silk, gold a cream colour, and trimmed in a gold braid.
This is a stunning couch with a lovely rich mahogany colour, plus polish & all stringing and marquetry inlaid high-lighted, (please see pictures)
This couch is in excellent condition, ready to use and requires no restoration.
