Description
A breathtaking Colombian cabochon emerald takes centre stage in this impressive coronet cluster. The centre stone is a glowing blue-ish green and is rubover set within a surround of fourteen bright and a lively old mine cut diamonds. The finely pierced gallery leads to a tapering D-shaped shank. With Portuguese hallmarks indicating 14k gold. Accompanied by an Emerald Report from Gemmological Certification Services (GCS) stating the emerald is Colombian and has only received moderate clarity enhancement. Cut – Cabochon emerald and old mine cut diamonds. Colour – Diamonds are G to I. Clarity – Some visible inclusions in the emerald (as is normal and expected for this stone). The diamonds are SI1 to I1; all are clean to the naked eye. Carat – The emerald is a known 6.43 carat. The total estimated diamond weight 1.68 carat Circa – 1920. Condition – There is a small amount of damage to the side of the emerald (this can be seen in the fourth photo). This is partially covered by the rubover setting and in no way effects the stability of the emerald. Measurements – The emerald is 13.93 x 8.58mm. The head of the ring is 15.7 x 19.9mm and sits 10.9mm Size – N 1/2 (UK) or 6.75 (US). Complimentary sizing is available, can go up or down. Metal – 14k gold. Portuguese hallmarks.
