Hingstons of Wilton has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
This Victorian inlaid walnut serpentine card table is of a wonderful light golden colour.

When you lift the top to open, it swings round to reveal a polished storage section under the top, this is to store card and gaming counters. Once opened you have the green baize playing surface (renewed).

The underframe consists of a pair of end supports joined by a turned and carved pole stretcher.
The end supports, again are made with solid walnut, each turned and with a lovely carved bulbous with Irish carving.

Off each of these are a pair of cabriole legs that are also carved and end with magnificent scroll toes with its original rolling castors under.
This example of a Victorian walnut card table is so much better than you are ever likely to find.
