A lovely rustic early 18th Century oak estate made box settle. Being "Estate made" this settle is constructed from earlier 17th/18th century recycled timbers and would have been made by an estate carpenter under the order of his Lordship or ladyship. The settle has had some old restorations and the bottom boards have been replaced in the late 19th century with Victorian tongue and groove boards. The settle has a fantastic dry patina and is in excellent condition, perfect for a country house!
