Bronze 1882 "Imperial Half-gallon" Measure

Description

A rare, heavy and superbly cast Victorian BRONZE MEASURE, hand-engraved with : "Imperial Half Gallon".

This was made for, and used by the War Department and is further engraved with: "H.M." and "W.D" between a crown. Also dated (1882) and stamped with various customs proof marks for successive monarchs. 6ins (15.25cms) high and 6ins diameter.
