Mahogany Stick Barometer by Dolland

Description

DOLLAND LONDON: a good late 18th/early 19th century mahogany STICK BAROMETER by this famous maker.

The lovely case with its "Swan-neck" pediment, is finely veneered with "flame" mahogany to the trunk with a solid mahogany cistern cover, whilst the door to the top retains its original working lock & key. The hand engraved and silvered register plate features a hand-operated recording vernier with an engraved signature to the top.

***This good barometer was made either by Peter Dolland (1730-1820) or nephew George (1774-1856).
