Marylebone Antiques has dated this piece to the 1890s.
This chair does need restoration in places, so please enlarge all the images, because I can’t possibly point it all out. This chair has at some point in it’s life been re-enforced on the back with more wood. Maybe it was broken. Whatever happened was a long time ago, judging from the wooden repair on the back. The seat was also recovered a long time ago along with the other one, because it’s the same fabric. I don’t really think these chairs are for sitting on anymore, but they are extremely decorative & a fabulous example of Victorian Decorative furniture. This chair has beautiful mother of pearl inlays & other decorative features.
If someone wants to buy the two chairs together I will do a better price.
