Pair of Victorian Britannia Standard Silver Lighthouse Sugar Casters

Description

Very attractive pair of Victorian Britannia standard silver lighthouse style sugar casters with bayonet fitting lids. The bodies with a wrythen pattern with various ribbed bands and stepped details to the foot and tops of lids with knopped finials. Pretty pierced detail to the lids along the lines of the spirals. Both hallmarked to the lid and base with the Britannia mark along with the lion's head erased and London date mark for 1894. Makers initials for Isaac Miller Wilkinson. Further stamped to the bases Miller Wilkinson, St. Michaels Alley, Cornhill, London.

One is fractionally taller than the other. They measure 5 1/4" and 5 1/2" high (13.3cm and 14cm) and 2 1/2" (6.5cm) wide. They weigh in total 307g/9.9ozt. Condition is very good with light and appropriate wear for age and use.
