The lower section has a solid mahogany top with satinwood cross banding and a high quality olive green gilt and blind tooled inset leather writing surface, above a shaped rectangular central frieze drawer with fine marquetry inlay and shell inlaid spandrels to the knee hole. Flanked by three mahogany lined bow front drawers with fine marquetry inlaid detail depicting Griffins and the original brass turned drawer pulls. Each lock stamped VR. With marquetry inlaid pilasters, the whole raised on eight square tapering supports with brass castors. English circa 1890-1900
