A fine quality Regency period mahogany wine-cooler of sarcophagus form; the hinged lid having a figured panel with a beaded moulded edge raised on concave sides with beaded moulded base. The waisted body has flared veneered panel within astragal moulded frames, the corners of rope-twist ending in fine brass claw-feet. Original ring-drop handles, the interior lead-lined with mahogany divisions.
John Beazor Antiques is a family firm, established in 1875 and based in Cambridge since 1940. We are a traditional antiques shop, but very much in the 21st century. We deal in 18th and early 19th century furniture, barometers and clocks. We choose our stock for its originality and for the quality of its colour, patination and design.
We are members of the BADA. We do not exhibit at fairs preferring to deal from our Cambridge shop where we hold an Open Weekend every November.
Open 9.00am 5.00pm, Tuesday to Friday, 10.00am - 4.00pm on Saturday. A prior phone call or email before visiting is always a good idea and we are happy to be contacted outside of business hours.
