Camden Antiques has dated this piece to the 1900s.
Further banding and inlaid stringing is found throughout the desk , including to the sides and rear , so that this desk could be free-standing with a room if desired. To the front there is an arrangement of 1 long central drawer, flanked by 2 sets of 4 graduated drawers. All fitted with their original brass handles. To the rear of the desk are "dummy" drawers. A further feature are the slides which pullout from the sides of the desk top thereby increasing the working surface area. The desk stands on good bold ogee bracket feet. We have had this lovely desk sympathetically refinsihed in our workshops to a very high standard. It is now offered for sale in excellent condition with a great colour and patina, ready to go straight into the home or office. Splits down into 3 sections for ease of installation.
