Andrew Cox Antiques has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
The purse opens to reveal a black and tan kid leather interior, with various compartments including space for stamps and cards. A fitted pencil is found for making notes and there is a separate coin compartment also with an engraved silver clasp. In all, there are seven compartments making for a very usable Victorian purse. Condition :- Very good, with no breaks, tears or losses. There are some minor discolouration marks to the inside, commensurate with age and use.
Hallmarks :- Unmarked, not unusual with small Victorian items, but tests as silver.
