An exquisite pair of Japanese meiji period mixed-metal bamboo vases each taking the form of a bamboo stem, each is onlaid in silver and patinated bronze with bamboo shoots and leaves. Signed on the reverse by the artist with the Nogawa mark on the underside, this onliad version of ‘bamboo vases’ is much scarcer and of much higher quality than the inlaid version, both vases are in excellent overall condition standing 6 inches tall.
