A Fine 16 Drawer Victorian Mahogany Collectors Specimen Cabinet Circa 1890

Description

A very fine, victorian solid mahogany 16 drawer collectors cabinet circa 1890.

This cabinet is built of rich and finely patinated mahogany to a very high quality specification and was originally designed to house, protect and display a collection of british insects. It will lend itself to a multitude of collecting pursuits. The condition is excellent and the cabinet is ready to be pressed into service.

Cabinets of this quality are not common and aesthetically it ticks all the boxes too. The drawers all have a hidden universal cell and are base lined with papered cork. The drawers run smoothly on hidden bearer runners and all have closely fitting glazed frame tops. All the original knobs are present and the original lock and key function perfectly. The cabinet rides on hidden casters.
