Description

LEIGH-PEMBERTON: a fine OIL PAINTING on panel entitled on the original label to the reverse: "The Modern Age".

Brightly painted and full of charm, it graphically depicts the fashions and pastimes of the period. It is in excellent condition and complete with the original frame. 28ins x 24ins including the frame. (71x61cms)

*** John Leigh-Pemberton, born in 1911 and brother of a Governor of the Bank of England, was an artist and illustrator. Educated at Eton and a Flying Instructor in the Second World War, he decorated the interiors of a number of ships and worked on the Shell Guide Series.
