Art Deco Silver Cake Stand.

1920 - 1940
Description

Silver, two-tier cake stand in Art Deco "fish scale" pattern. This great piece is highly unusual in that it is silver, rather than silverplate (which 99% of them are.) Every piece (stand and both removable plates,) is clearly hallmarked with the same date and maker. The plain stand holds two separate plates which are of "fish scale" design which was very popular in the Art Deco period. Good well made piece by fine maker.

Sheffield. 1933. Mappin & Webb.

Height 32.5cm

Weight 35 troy oz/1085gm

Please note; cakes and sandwiches are not included and are for display purposes only. Have subsequently been eaten by photographer anyway!
