Twin-fusee, Striking, Drop-dial Wall Clock

19th century
Description

A very high quality twin fusee drop dial wall clock, signed STEVENS of WILLESDON GREEN.

A 12" dial with black Roman numerals, outer minute ring and nicely cut hands. A heavy cast brass bezel and bevel edged glass.

The chain driven, double fusee movement is one of the finest we have ever seen. It is of outstanding quality and has just been fully overhauled. It strikes the number of hours on the hour.

The case, too, is of equal quality, being golden oak in colour and with it's original French-polished finish. It has a nice narrow surround to the dial with a brass surround apperture to the lower half through which the pendulum can be seen working. It has a key lockable door to the base and glazed inspection doors to the sides.

Complete with original winding key (always a good sign) and obviously our usual 12 mths guarantee.

A very fine example of one of these relatively rare clocks.

All cards accepted.

We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
