Description

One of the most sensational powder bowls I have had with the obvious joy being the most incredible and intricate silver pique inlaid to the stunning piece of antique tortoiseshell set into the lid top.

The inlay incorporates a stunning pair of birds eating from an urn full of fruit, quite extraordinary. The glossy piece of tortoiseshell is set into a solid or sterling silver frame clearly hallmarked for Birmingham 1916 together the the makers mark D & F for the renowned silversmith Deakin and Francis.

If this wasn't enough, the interior of the lid incorporates a mirror. The glass is simple with an elegant shape and in exquisite undamaged condition with a star cut base.

A large and truly impressive size measuring 6" in diameter x 4" tall.
