Description

Very smart pair of Edwardian satinwood bedside cabinets c.1905. Original well figured and shaped marble tops within a moulded edge over a single working drawer and two dummy drawer fronts which hinge open to reveal a useful cupboard space inside. Raised on slim legs with original wooden castors. Fine quality cabinet making with quarter veneered fronts inlaid with ebony stringing. Unusual shaped sides with veneered panels, inlaid to match. Canted corners with gilded brass mounts, and inlaid and crossbanded detail continued on the front legs. Panelled and polished on the rear. With an old repair to the one marble and one replacement ring handle, otherwise excellent colour and condition, cleaned and polished in our workshops.
