Antique Silver Centre Seconds Chrono Pocket Watch

An antique silver centre seconds chronograph by Henry Driver of Keighley, West Yorkshire, 1889.

The watch has a fusee movement which is working nicely. The movement is signed H Driver, Keighley. Henry Driver was listed as both a watch maker and jeweller and he traded from various premises including a shop in Low Street as shown in the photo (courtesy of Maggie Blanck). The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover. A key is included although from a different jeweller.

The watch itself measures 58mm diameter excluding the stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside the case back for Chester 1889, with a maker's mark for the case maker Henry Green, who was based in King Square in London. The case is in good condition and has rose gold embellishments.

The watch glass has a very small chip to the bevelled edge, and general light marking from being in a pocket.

The dial is in good condition. The chronograph hand is operated by sliding the small rose gold button to the side of the case... this button does slide but is very stiff.

The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.
