Elmgarden has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
The set has 11 single chairs, they have a high arched shaped back with a decorative carved panel beneath the the padded leather back rest. The seat is sprung and upholstered, and brass studded to match the back.
The legs are fluted and turned, the front ones have brass casters for ease of movement around the dining room, all the chairs have a sturdy H stretcher, this too is carved, which denotes the fine quality of this set, there is no evidence of a makers stamp
All the chairs are very sound with no loose joints or breaks, they are very good quality and have been well looked after, the leather has no tears or holes
The chairs are 40” high at the back, they are 20” across and the seats are 20” high
