This subject matter is very typical of the Aesthetic movement prevalent in France and England in the 1870's.

This silver plate frame with a push button opening the purse to reveal a pink moire silk lining. It concertinas open in three compartments, and a further closed section with a metal mount and locking pin. This mount is marked Brevete SGDG which is the French patent mark.

Condition:
Mother of pearl in excellent ]condition.
Silver plated mount in equally good condition.
Silk interior in good condition with no tears but a few marks.
Dimensions:
Length: 8cm - 3 inches.
Height: 5cm - 2 inches.
