Description

A very good quality and unusual freestanding Victorian patented metamorphic walnut writing cabinet / davenport. The cabinet having good quality carved detail throughout with 3 drawers to the right hand side and 3 dummy drawers to the left all having decorative brass handles. The 2 leaf top opens via an “Eclipse” (The Eclipse brand’s patent No.15398) mechanism which lifts the hidden writing section containing a stationary compartment with 2 ink pots, all the original green leather writing surfaces and various pads etc. the 2 writing falls open to reveal more storage areas and the whole in very good original condition. Dimensions closed :- Height…32’’/ 82cm. Width…23’’/ 58.5cm. Depth…24’’/ 61cm. Dimensions open :- Height…38’’/ 96.5cm. Width…44.75’’/ 114cm. Depth…24’’/ 61cm. Delivery to most of U.K. mainland £55.
